CU Grunged Layer Styles

I am a details person. It's often little things on a layout that make a big difference to me. One detail that I love is the impact a little 'grunge' can have on something...particularly text or titles that are right on the background paper.

Here is an example. On the left layout, the title is plain and on the right the title has been 'grunged'. It isn't a huge difference, but I definitely like the one on the right much better.

To get this look, I would typically use a grunge brush to erase or 'mask' parts of the layer. To simplify the grunging process, I finally made myself some layer styles! If you would like to add them to your stash, you can purcahse them below! :)

New Collection and Freebie!

First, a reminder that there is still time to sign up for the 'Understanding Exposure' - Online Training!! Come join me for this great class designed to get you off Auto and into Manual mode on your DSLR.

Next, I have something really fun that I have been working on! This collection first inspired by a cute little shirt my youngest daughter was wearing recently. As I began working on the collection, I was also inspired to incorporate a favorite scripture verse into many of the papers:

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

I am so thrilled with how this collection turned out! I hope you will be too!!

Freebie Collection and Some Changes

Hey Scrappers! Hope you had a great week! I have been working hard on something really fun and am so excited to finally share it with you! Here is a preview of my all new 'Feelin Krafty' collection! This fun, versatile collection has 24 papers and over 60 elements!

Download links coming below, but first some changes on the horizon. When I started SpeedScraps, one of my goals for the site was that it be a source of awesome freebies. This is still one of my goals, however, I do need to somehow find a balance. I need to come up with a way to generate some income for myself to compensate for the time spent creating products and writing tutorials. (Or my better half will force me to get a 'real' job, and we really don't want that now, do we?? :D )

I have some ideas on how to achieve that balance and some changes that will be implemented over the next few months. The first change is with this collection. The freebie downloads are set up through YouSendIt, which will be valid for 100 downloads or 7 days - whichever comes first. If the free downloads are no longer available, the collection can be purchased for $3 using the Buy It Now button following the links.

I am so appreciative of everyone that has supported me on this journey. I hope you'll stick around while I work through the changes and try to create a win-win situation for all of us. If all goes as planned, SpeedScraps will still be a source of great freebies, as well as a place to make purchases that are a great value.

Now, before I give you this links, here is a little inspiration using the Feelin Krafty Collection.
